Lots of things to see and do
Here are a few thing you might like to see and do whilst you are on your holiday. It is only a sample. I haven't mentioned the Cider Museum or the Spectacle du Perchereons, Calvados tasting or any of the numerous sports facilities, tennis, swimming, horse riding and golf. Not forgetting a handful of hidden local lunchtime restaurants with set meals (wine included), great food and fabulous value.
Bagnoles De L'Orne 11 kms
Spa town specialising in health and beauty treatments from facials to waxing, mud baths to a hosing down with "rejuvenating" waters . Spa Treatments Bagnoles is great fun and gives you the feeling that you are in a mini version of ´Cannes´, well almost. It perhaps lacks some of the ´beautiful people ´and sorry no film festival, however it does have a Casino, some great restaurants, bars and terraces for people watching. The town nestles in the Forest d'Andaine. You could simply walk for hours or maybe have a go at acro-branching, velo railing or take a spin around the Parcour du sante. Throughout the summer season there are many concerts, firework displays and street entertainment. The tourist information centre can provide a list of events. |
Domfront
Medieval Town (18 kms). You can have a `history day`in Domfront, Learn all about the `Plantagenets`, have a look at the Château and its archaeological dig or just wander about in the narrow cobbled streets. Domfront Medieval City |
Gorge du Villiers
This is a magical little valley where you can find the spring of "eternal youth", well so rumour has it! The spring is definitely there but its "Shangrila" properties while not entirely scientifically proven , are well worth a risk. One of Normandy's best kept secrets with dingly dell stream, rickety little bridges, hermits lodge and the cutest mini chapel, if you saw fairies in the undergrowth you would not be suprised.
